Greenbrae Dermatology has been treating patients from all over the bay area. Our team of board certified physicians are experts in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Our patient care is provided with outstanding professionalism and full attention to patient comfort and satisfaction. Further more, our mission is to provide effective professional skin care in a compassionate and patient-friendly environment.
We offer a full range of dermatological services, from cosmetic and laser treatments to skin cancer screenings and medical dermatology. Cosmetic dermatology is a science as well as and art, and our physicians and nurses are known for their ability to achieve beautiful natural results. We strive for our cosmetic patients to walk away with a youthful, natural appearance and our medical patients to have the resources necessary to treat their concerns and skin conditions.

dOCTORS
BENJAMIN NICHOLS, M.D.
Dr. Nichols is a Board-Certified Dermatologist. He was born in Seattle, Washington and moved to California at a young age. He attended UC Berkeley for his undergraduate education and the University of Southern California for medical school. He continued his training at the affiliated hospitals of the University of Southern California, which include, Los Angeles County-University of Southern California (LAC-USC) General Hospital, Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, Women's and Children's Hospital and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA). He returned to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2010 with his wife who grew up in the area. She is a local physician specializing in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat). His father is a Professor at the University of Southern California School of Medicine, his mother his a retired nurse of over 50 years, his brother is a pediatric psychiatrist and he has several other physicians in the family.
SINAE KANE, M.D.
Dr. Sinae Kane is a Board-Certified Dermatologist in Marin who provides comprehensive medical, cosmetic, and surgical skin care to both adult and pediatric patients. She loves caring for patients, families, and their friends.
She graduated from MIT with degrees in Biology and Nuclear Engineering. Prior to her medical training, she worked abroad as a volunteer teacher for elementary school children with WorldTeach in the Marshall Islands. She then received her medical degree from UCSF, completed a medical and surgical internship in San Diego, and her Dermatology residency at Duke University, where she served as Chief Resident. Before her return to the Bay Area, she was an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Duke University Medical Center. She has been featured in the news and in educational videos, discussing skin care topics such as sun protection, acne, and skin cancer, and is also a medical advisor in the Tech industry.
Dr. Kane has lived all around the country and world, including Korea and Germany, and has been involved in volunteer work in Vietnam, Peru, Mexico, and the Marshall Islands. Outside of work, she enjoys the local beauty and food of the Bay Area with her husband, two kids, and dog Lola, a North Carolina Plott Hound.
MEGHAN HESSION, M.D.
Dr. Hession is a board-certified dermatologist who joins Greenbrae Dermatology after practicing in San Mateo for seven years. She treats patients of all ages, providing medical, surgical, and cosmetic services. Her areas of interest and expertise include skin cancer screening and prevention, as well as the treatment of female hormonal acne and acne scarring, having published extensively on the latter two topics. She helps her patients achieve their aesthetic goals with an integrated and natural approach, starting with a healthy lifestyle and solid skin care regimen as the foundation, and incorporating other anti-aging treatments when appropriate and desired by the patient.
Originally from Boston, Dr. Hession completed most of her education on the east coast. As a Jefferson Scholar, she attended the University of Virginia on a full academic scholarship, graduating summa cum laude (with highest distinction) with a B.S. in biology. She completed medical school at Columbia University in New York city and completed her dermatology residency at Boston University/Boston Medical Center.

Dr. Hession believes that a healthy lifestyle is fundamental to healthy skin. Outside the office, you can find her on the trails of Marin or backcountry skiing in Tahoe–always coated in a generous layer of sunscreen! She is an avid endurance athlete, having competed in multiple long distance trail running races and cycling events, from road to mountain bike to gravel. She joins our practice after having spent three weeks on a mountaineering expedition in South America, feeling refreshed and looking forward to addressing your skin care needs!
